As a Grand Haven CERT member, you will receive all required training
by professional emergency responders and emergency management personnel in areas that will help you take care of yourself, your family, and neighbors before, during, and after a major emergency
such as hurricanes, wild fire, tornadoes, etc. As an organized team, you will provide vital services until professional emergency services arrive.
As a volunteer, you will be encouraged to attend the Grand Haven CERT meetings and participate in simulated drills and two-way communication exercises. The team meets for a couple of hours every month during hurricane season and every other month during the rest of the year.
As a trained Grand Haven CERT member you will have the knowledge and skills to:
Safely respond to man-made and natural hazards and disasters in our community
Organize and participate in basic disaster response
